 Tactile
Technologies East Africa is the first Tactile office outside
South Africa. The branch is based in Nairobi from where it
will market, distribute and support the entire Tactile range
throughout Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Tactile Technologies SA was established late
in 2001. In the course of 2002 it acquired the sole distribution
rights for the Elo TouchSystems brand. It currently holds
the Value Add Distributor status which means it is authorized
and trained to do all repairs locally. It is also an accreditation
of being able to custom develop touch screen based solutions.
Tactile is the sole Elo distributor in Africa and has exclusivity
for Sub Saharan Africa including the Indian Ocean Islands.
Tactile added the Winmate Communications product range to
its offering in 2005. Winmate is an expert in LCD-based technology
and solutions. Tactile is Winmate’s preferred business
partner for the area and has many years of experience in dealing
with Winmate and its products. MediaTile 3G Cellular Digital
Signage is the third and newest vendor under the Tactile roof.
MediaTile is an acknowledged worldwide leader in digital signage
and is rapidly expanding its distribution network throughout
the world.
Tactile has recently launched TouchTools,
a self service solutions platform which focuses on the industry
and not the end-user. A first for Africa, it is another way
of Tactile educating the market and developing its channel.
Tactile Technologies has offices in Cape
Town, Centurion and now also Nairobi – Kenya. A distributor
is located in KZN and resellers can be found throughout Africa.
Tactile Technologies has the largest staff
compliment in Africa focusing on touch. It is acknowledged
by many as the leading expert in touch screen technology in
Africa.
